Abstract
Andre Hellegers (1926–1979) was the founder and first director of the Kennedy Institute of Ethics at Georgetown University in the United States.
Born in the Netherlands he studied medicine in Edinburgh (United Kingdom). He specialized in fetal physiology in the United States. In 1967 he was appointed professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Georgetown University.
