Bertrand Goldberg, a prominent American architect, was born in Chicago to a family with roots in the city for over a century.
Raised in the esteemed Hyde Park neighborhood, he attended private schools and later graduated from the Cambridge School of Landscape Architecture, which eventually merged with the Harvard School of Design.
At the tender age of 18, Goldberg embarked on a formative journey to Germany to study at the Bauhaus, where he apprenticed under renowned architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.
